Publication about the history and present of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

For the 125th anniversary of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", a book dedicated to its history and present has been published. It is called "KPI: the second century. Continuation of traditions."

In this volume, the work of faculties and units of KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi and the achievements of his scientific schools, as well as his innovative activity and principles on which the educational process at the university and the research activity of his team are currently based. And also - the ways of its further development are outlined.

"The preparation of the substantive part of this publication was ensured by a large number of employees of our university, - said its deputy editor-in-chief, head of the Scientific Council of KPI, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Ilchenko, presenting a signal copy of the book at the rector's meeting on August 21, - and more than 80 people contributed to the implementation of this project , who work in our various divisions."

And this is true: among its authors are university leaders and heads and employees of educational and scientific institutes and faculties; veterans of KPI, for whom the history of the university is an important part of their lives; and scientific teachers of the employees of the units, who create its history with their work, no. And dozens more polytechnics who in one way or another contributed to the preparation of this publication.

It is interesting that the features of this book, which are new for the domestic publishing industry, are the use of QR codes in it, which can be used to learn more about certain episodes of the life of the university: after reading these codes with the help of a smartphone, you can view footage from old newsreels, modern video materials, read various publications . . about KPI named after Igor Sikorsky.
